Alabama’s #1 tourist attraction, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, home of Space Camp, offers visitors a look at the history of space aviation as well as a glimpse into the future. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center most recently opened the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. This impressive 48,000 square foot facility houses one of only three remaining Saturn V moon rockets suspended 12 feet above the floor. Marvel at many artifacts only seen in Huntsville including a full-scale, full-stack shuttle and the only full-scale vertical mock-up of a Saturn V rocket.
Currently undergoing a face-lift, the Von Braun Center is truly one of the finest convention/multi-purpose centers in the country. The center features more than 170,000 square feet of flexible meeting and exhibit space and has long served as the center of beautiful downtown Huntsville. Big Spring International Park is literally in the Center’s front yard as well as the Huntsville Museum of Art, which will be expanding soon. Downtown is the perfect place to enjoy a stroll, visit one of our many attractions or journey back in time in the Twickenham or Old Town Historic Districts.
